♦ Chef Bradley Kilgore, the Azul sous chef who has been in the culinary spotlight since Joel Huff departed from the restaurant, and his wife Soraya, a pastry chef, have bought in as partners at Route 9 and Exit 1, neighborhood spots in Coral Gables and Key Biscayne, respectively. According to Miami.com, Route 9 will continue to serve something more akin to comfort food, while Exit 1 will feature more of Kilgore’s sophisticated cuisine that has earned him fans in his time at Azul.
♦ Shooting for an early November opening, chef Dena Marino, of the upcoming MC Kitchen in the Design District, dishes to Eater Miami about her new Italian eatery. Housed in the former Fratelli Lyon space, this is one of the new openings that we’re most looking forward to. Anyone who has had a chance to try Marino’s food, whether during her short stint at Devito’s or at events around town, probably feels the same way.
