♦ A bunch of tweets does not a restaurant make (anyone remember The Safari Club? I didn’t think so.).  So we’re still skeptical of The Butcher Shop, a multiplex of retail, restaurant, and beer garden that purports to be bringing old fashioned butchery back to Miami.  Old fashioned butchery? Isn’t that what Dexter does?  In any event, the restaurant is sporting a Wynwood address, just east of Panther Coffee.  Keep an eye out for a menu and other details coming soon on their website.

♦ Good art deserves good food.  So while the Pious Pig Restaurant Group (Phuc Yea, The Federal, Acme Bakery) will be providing food, drink, and provisions for Scope Art Fair, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is teaming up with Design Miami during Art Basel.  On the menu? Some unfamiliar items like a stone crab cocktail and a rock shrimp summer roll, and some familiar ones, like the thick cut potato chips with pan fried onion dip.
