♦ Apologies for the delay in posting. The latest Cobaya dinner, which began last evening at 8pm, just wrapped up. Okay, perhaps a bit of an exaggeration but check out this menu. There were many courses of sweet savoriness by Richard Hales of Sakaya, followed by many courses of savory sweetness by Vanessa Paz, pastry chef at Michy’s.
♦ Eater Miami announced the name, location and font choice of Yardbird, billed as a “Southern Table & Bar” and helmed by Jeff McInnis, formerly of Top Chef and Gigi. More info on the new restaurant at their website, runchickenrun.com, which they obviously bought at auction from Chik-fil-a.
♦ And for those of you looking for downtown bites, there’s a new place called Little Lotus at 22 NE 1st Street, across from Macy’s (inside of the International Jewelry Center where I buy all of my international jewels). Wok Star Eleanor Hoh provides the scoop on her blog, along with some photos. The two chefs have quite the pedigree, one hailing from Morimoto NYC and the other still working part-time at Hiro’s Yakko San. Of course I now realize I’m talking about chefs like they’re dogs at the Westminster Dog Show. I’ll try avoid that, but you really should check out their gait.
