QUICK HITS:
♦ Unlike the Hotel California, apparently you can leave the Raleigh Hotel. Eater Miami broke the news last week that chef Sam Gorenstein, who had been hired away from BLT Steak to help Michael Schwartz open a new eatery on the Beach, is leaving the Raleigh before the new restaurant has opened. Gorenstein, a two-time James Beard rising star award semifinalist, is going to be focusing on My Ceviche, his new business venture with partner Roger Duarte of George Stone Crab fame, where he is serving fresh ceviche at a small storefront in the South Beach Hostel, a couple blocks north of Joe’s Stone Crab.
♦ Route 9 is getting a C Pass.
♦ NYC BBQ joint Brother Jimmy’s is preparing to open in Mary Brickell Village. And their ‘help wanted’ ads are refreshingly honest: “Knowledge of ACC and SEC sports is a huge plus.” All you Big Ten fans need not apply.
