UPDATE: I haven’t been able to scour through the new Zagat yet. Supposed to get one gratis for contributing reviews but who knows how long that’ll take. Anyways, Palme D’Or sweeps with 28-28-28. It seems like “26″ is Zagat-speak for quality local, farm-to-table cuisine as both Michael’s Genuine and Red Light get dumped there. Short Order gives a detailed run-down of the rankings.
Tomorrow is the release date for the annual Zagat rankings for Miami dining. Last year, the big surprise for me was Oishi Thai’s 29 ranking for food. Not to say they aren’t one of Miami’s finer restaurants (they’re #15 on the power rankings), but I think that 29 is pushing it. They have their defenders though and clearly some loyal followers who like to submit restaurant reviews to Zagat.
So here’s the question. What will the big surprise be this year?
