November 13, 2012 Quick Hits

♦ It’s not too late to get tickets to next Sunday’s Sandy Relief Dinner at The Dutch.  Join Cobaya Miami, Andrew Carmellini, Michelle Bernstein, Jeremiah Bullfrog, and others for cocktails (by Bar Lab), dinner, and a silent auction.  A great lineup for a great cause.

Florida Cookery is now open.  MC Kitchen is set to open later this week.  And chef Alan Hughes is opening The Embassy in the old Blue Piano spot between the Design District and Buena Vista neighborhoods.  Oh, and the Pubbelly guys ran out of restaurant ideas, so they’re opening a steakhouse (PB Steak).

♦ Harry’s Pizzeria has announced the first two visiting chefs for the 2013 season of their pop-up series, and it doesn’t get much better than Chicago’s Paul Kahan (Blackbird, Avec, Publican, et al.) and April Bloomfield of The Spotted Pig and The Breslin (along with The Breslin’s chef Peter Cho).  Tickets are not yet on sale, but stay tuned.

Great to see the efforts that are being made to support those affected by Hurricane Sandy. LR Bergeron
