December 15, 2008 Power Rankings

by Ryan @ MRPR on December 15, 2009

After some soul-searching, I’ve dropped Joe’s down a bit.  It’s the hardest restaurant for me to rank on here because you’ve got to take into account the difficulty of actually getting through the front door and the fact that stone crabs are great regardless of where you get them, on the one hand.  On the other hand, all of the side dishes are solid and the key lime pie is one of the best you can get in Miami.  Let me know in the comments if you agree or disagree with the move.

In other news, Mandolin Aegean Bistro debuts at number 16 on the list after a solid first showing.  See a more detailed review here.  Lee Schrager seems to agree.  He tweeted the following last night: “Amazing new Aegean Bistro in our Miami hood- check out asap- Mandolin on NE 2nd Ave-alfresco dining and great greek tapas. Hurrrrry in!”

Love that PT is now off the list entirely. And although I agree, stone crabs are stone crabs whereever you get them, there’s something iconically awesome about Joe’s that makes it worthy of staying on your top 20.
