There’s been a lot of construction going on around town, and a few spots have taken to Facebook and Twitter to keep interested eaters in the loop. Here’s an update:
Chowdown Grill (Surfside): I’ve written about Chowdown Grill before here. Since we last checked in, they’ve posted a whole bunch of construction pictures on their Facebook page. Latest update: After some local government bureaucracy (a lost application), they’ve passed inspection. According to chef/owner Joshua Marcus, they should get their certificate of occupancy on Wednesday and be open sometime this week.
Norman’s 180 (Coral Gables): I’ve spilled lots of digital ink on 180 here, here, here, and here. But the best place for updates on the progress of 180 is Chef Van Aken’s Twitter feed. Last update: According to a June 3rd update, they’re just waiting on “final okays” from the City. The latest picture of the space is here.
Vino e Olio (Design District): I haven’t written about this new Italian restaurant opening in the Design District but Short Order recently wrote about the restaurant and its chef here. Vino e Olio has an obligatory Facebook page here. It appears that construction began at the end of April and there is still a ways to go. But we’ll definitely keep an eye on this one.
