A year ago, MRPR published a “to-do” list of new and not-so-new places in Miami that had not yet been visited, the goal being that I would check these off my list before the clock struck midnight last night. Big #fail. My eyes were bigger than my stomach.
In any event, here’s the progress (or lack of progress) report:
) Latin Burger & Taco Truck – Made it to LB&TT before Ingrid Hoffman left and enjoyed the burger and tacos just fine before falling in love with Gastropod. I’m in a mostly monogamous food truck relationship with gPod now (but I sometimes step out to visit my mistress, Dim Ssam A Go Go).
) De Rodriguez Cuba – Made it to De Rodriguez Cuba but was not wowed. My quote at a subsequent Cobaya dinner at De Rodriguez Ocean? “I wish De Rodriguez Cuba would fall into De Rodriguez Ocean.”
) Cafe Sharaku – Recommendation from Chef Kevin Cory at NAOE. Still have not been (but it is in Broward, so cut me some slack).
) Marumi Sushi – Same as Cafe Sharaku, above.
) Gabose – This post over a year ago got me excited about Gabose, but obviously not excited enough to travel to Broward. I’m noticing a trend here.
) Palme D’Or – My biggest embarrassment in writing this blog is that I haven’t been to Palme D’Or. Yell at me in the comments below.
) Adriana – Never really think about this one and had forgotten all about it until re-reading my 2010 post. Has anyone been? Thoughts?
) Talula – Oops. Too late.
and 10 ) Q and Fin – Or as I like to call them DQed and Fin’ished.
) The Morgans Restaurant – Enjoying Morgans, especially this time of year. Stop by for brunch and grab an outside table.
) Norman’s 180 – I’ll go back when Norman Van Aken does.
